The Eastern Strait Regional Enterprise Network (ESREN) has hired an executive assistant for its Antigonish office.

Lynne Delorey took on the position at the start of 2018.

“Over the last year, we have worked to establish our presence in Guysborough, St. Mary’s and Port Hawkesbury,” ESREN chief executive officer John Beaton said.

“Our latest operational venture is to build up our presence and approach-ability for businesses in Antigonish.”

Describing her as a “well-known community player in the region, with strong skills in the tourism industry, as well as financial experience,” Beaton said Delorey is a great fit.

“Having her with us as an executive assistant helps to ensure that we work seamlessly, we are always accessible for business and partners, and that we can be even more impactful.

“We are very pleased that she has accepted the position and we look forward to the value that she can bring, especially on the communications side of our shop,” he added.

As for taking on the role, Delorey said the word “enthusiastic” comes to mind.

“The biggest thing – I am excited to be helping businesses again,” she added.

As a former small business owner, Delorey noted, she “knows the struggles” they face.

“It is about growing and helping to create many connections,” she said.

Delorey hopes to contribute her experience in areas, such as finance, human resources and marketing to ESREN.

“I want to help make a positive difference in the economic growth and development of our area,” she said.

Delorey added she will be there to help businesses – both new and existing – “connect the dots.”

“I appreciate our region and what it has to offer,” she said.

Delorey invites people to drop in to see her in ESREN’s temporary home on Main Street – at the former location of Aphrodite Art and Fashion.

ESREN continues to take steps to assist in building a business enterprise centre for Antigonish town and county.

“We can come to you, as well, and we want to help you in any way that we can,” Delorey said.
